Looking for some evidence-based research into how online activity generates sales leads and boosts web traffic? Hubspot have released a new study, based on the actual experiences of 4,000 customers, detailing how many sales leads, or increases in web traffic, each type of online activity generated.
The study, available from the HubSpot website, is a free pdf download and covers all the major online activity (blogging, web pages, Twitter, and Facebook) with some of the main findings being:
- B2B companies that blog 16 – 20 times a month received 3 times more leads than those who didn’t blog at all.
- Businesses with over 1,000 Twitter followers received six times more web traffic than those with under 25.
- A business with 501 – 1,000 Facebook fans enjoyed four times more leads than one with under 25.
It should go without saying that the social media boost comes from not just having a large number of fans / followers but from active engagement with them (if it doesn’t go without saying then it’s time to brush up your social media marketing skills).
