Social analytics company PostRank has been bought by Google. The buy-out was announced on PostRank’s website.
PostRank’s service tracks, in real-time, how people interact on social media sites, providing valuable analytic data for online advertisers and publishers.
There’s no information yet on how Google tends to use the PageRank (though it seems likely its analytic tools will be rolled into Google’s search algorithms and Google Analytics).
From the PageRank announcement:
We’re proud of what we’ve accomplished, and we now look forward to working with Google’s team to build more useful tools for measuring engagement online, and we’ll be sure to share details on our progress in the coming months.
