Facebook is launching a new advertising unit that expands when a friend ‘likes’ the brand, or product being advertised. According to Mashable, the new advertising unit will be announced this week at Advertising Week in New York.
Although similar to the already available Sponsored Stories option, this new unit won’t appear in News Feeds and it includes a full advertising message, rather just highlighting a friend’s interaction with a brand.
This new advert style will expand to show comments and ‘likes’ for the advert from others, emphasising social interactions and sharing.
