Google finds a new Place for Hotpot

Last November, Google introduced Hotpot, its recommendation service to help people discover new places of interest when searching for local facilities. Since then the service has grown to include millions of users, Android and iPhone apps have been released, and Google Hotpot is now available in 47 languages.

To move Hotpot onto the next stage in its development, Google has announced it will be rolled into the existing Google Places service. From the Hotpot blog.

Rolling Hotpot into Google Places helps simplify the connection between the places that are rated and reviewed and the more than 50 million places that already have an online presence through Google Places—places that millions of people search for and find every day on Google.
