Twitter has updated the mobile web version of its site and created a fully-fledged HTML5 web app for twitterers on the move.
The company already offers iPhone and Android Twitter apps for using the social media service, and the new mobile site will bring users of other mobile operating systems a richer, more app-like experience, than the old website.
From the Twitter blog:
This web app allows us to provide a high-quality and consistent Twitter experience on high-end touchscreen devices – whether or not an official Twitter application is available.
One of the benefits of building web apps is there’s no need to receive approval through Apple’s App Store.
