o2 Priority Moments launches into the crowded voucher sector

o2 Priority Moments is the mobile network’s latest service, delivering exclusive offers and services to iPhone and Android users, via a dedicated mobile app.

The UK mobile operator has being ramping up its location-based offerings recently, which is a good strategy to follow as a) geolocation services are very ‘hot’ right now, and b) all these services usually require access to a mobile network to work at their best.

Priority Moments sees o2 move into the, increasingly crowded, voucher sector where it will be competing with Groupon, Facebook Deals, and others. Consumers loyalty to these branded services appears to be low so gaining market share could well be a case of offering better deals than other services.

At launch o2 is offering discounts from 30 partners, including big names like Odeon, Harvey Nichols and WH Smith. Their press release suggests each o2 customer could save £105 a month, though how much you’d have to spend to save that is curiously left out of the calculations.

Below is a rather nice video of how it all works.
